Thetford Library Federation was established in 1972. The Thetford community formed a working "federation" composed of Latham Library, Peabody Library, the Historical Society Library along with Thetford Academy Library and Thetford Elementary School's Library. The Thetford Library Federation has  a fully automated Library Catalog  and circulation system. Library patrons  may access Library Federation automated titles (over 30,000 titles in four member libraries: Latham, TA, TES and Peabody).

All students at TES are scheduled to visit the library once per week. In Library Class, students have a library lesson, a book read aloud and/or book discussion. All students are given time to select books to bring home. Computer instruction is incorporated into library classes. All computer instruction integrates technology into students' current class curriculum.

Virtual Art Museum Tours

Visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA   www.mfa.org

Students in grades 3-6th have been taking virtual tours of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Students are preparing for the school's Art Gallery opening the second week of May.

The virtual tours have been an excellent way for students to learn how museums are organized , how to examine art and display works of art.

This week (April 5th- Apr 9th) students will be exploring the Textile and Fashion Art Collection at the MFA. We will be focusing on the work of African American Folk Artist, Harriet Powers, Only two of her quilts have survived: Bible Quilt 1886 and Pictorial Quilt 1898.  Her work is on display at the National Museum of American History,Washington DC and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts.
