Board Minutes: Tuesday December 4, 2007

 

 

         Andy Boyce convened the School Board meeting at 5:35PM in the Art Room.  The following were present:  Andy Boyce, Robin Brown, Jennifer Reining, Susan Weider, School Board; Alice Worth, Principal; Virginia Stone, Secretary; Wendy Hovey, OESU Superintendent and Linda Rosa, OESU CFO; Terry Longo and Mike Pomeroy, Budget Committee  

 

Agenda Review – added:  Transportation and Correspondence

 

Minutes – MOTION:  (Weider/Brown) moved/seconded to approve the minutes of the meeting on 11/13/07; unanimous.

 

Orders – MOTION:  (Boyce/Reining) moved/seconded to approve orders #8 and #9/07, payrolls for 11/15 and 11/30/07, and a retirement payment; unanimous.

 

Transportation – Alice Worth distributed copies of the Transportation Bid Proposal drafted by Jim McGrath, COO OESU.  Review and discussion.  The bus contract will be put out to bid this week.

 

Correspondence – The Board acknowledged receipt of letters from teachers Jennifer Pratt and Brenda Bondurant notifying the Board that they would be moving up on the salary scale for FYÕ09.  

 

Financial Report – Linda Rosa, OESU CFO, distributed copies of the first draft of a proposed budget for FYÕ09.  Review and discussion:  transportation, special education, staffing, TA proposed tuition, OESU assessments and projected enrollment.

 

Any Other Business

            Agendas – 12/11: interviewing Board candidates, 12/18:  budget discussion
