From the PrincipalŐs Desk:
Dear Families of fourth grade students,
Last
Friday a letter went home with your child explaining the school's participation
in the National Assessment of Educational Progress ( NAEP) which will be held on January 24, 2007. Our school's participation is at the
request of the Vermont Commissioner of Education. If you did not receive the
letter from me, please call the office and another will be sent home.
The first 5th and 6th grade Social will be held Friday,
January 5th from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
Parents of 5th and 6th grade students should be on the lookout for
information which will go home with students today.
Our annual Thetford Senior CitizensŐ Day Celebration and Holiday
Luncheon will be held next Tuesday, December 12th, weather permitting. Students will be eating in their
classrooms; please remember to send a bag lunch with your child.
School Announcements:
Thanks to everyone who participated in the PTO book fair this year. I am happy
to let you know that we raised $1600 for the PTO and added over 150 new books
to the classroom and library collections. (Stacy Glazer)
Dr. Quark (Ted Lawrence) will once again visit TES to perform his
amazing science experiments in a program called "The Notion of
Motion" on Wednesday, Dec 20th. This program is partially funded with money
earned by the Sally Foster sale as a way to celebrate the students' efforts
this year to raise $10,000.00 for field trips.
There will be 2 shows:
K-2nd 9:30-10:30
3-6th
10:45-11:45
Parents are welcome join us for this fun and fact filled
program.

You may experience some difficulty this week and next as the server
for our web site is being changed.
Remember that the old web site at thet.net is no longer being maintained
and we have asked to have it taken down.

Annual Winter Solstice Celebration 12/19
ChildrenŐs celebration: 3:30 - 4:45pm
Adult Celebration: 7:00pm (stories with Peter Blodgett)
Come light up Peabody library with candles and your smiles to
celebrate the darkest day of the year. Holiday stories will be told by Simon
and the Storytelling Workshop participants. Lots of snacks and a great time.
Students from TES can take bus #2 to Peabody library after school.
